The game released as two versions one called "Long days in the Imperial City" and the other is called "Elegant Days in Paris". The games costs ¥5,800 for the regular edition that and ¥8,800 for the limited edition and both had a Sakura Wars 4 Preview Disc included with it.

Differences between versions[]

The differences between the two version of the game are the home bases are different depending on the version purchased, and there is a difference in the partner that can be selected first. There are different types of items that can be purchased at shops, etc.

Gameplay[]

Dating[]

The protagonist is the player himself. You can date your favorite Sakura Wars character. Unlike the mainline Sakura Wars games, the main character is not Ichiro Ogami but the player himself. Players will use the familiar communication device "Kinematron" to contact the Sakura Wars characters, meet up, and go out to the city.

Kinematron[]

By operating this, you can contact the desired Sakura Wars character and connect to the net. Sometimes an unexpected contact comes in from the partner characters.

Going into town[]

If you go to the city (connected to the Internet), there will be the Sakura Wars character you contacted and promised to hang out with. Players can walk around the city with this character and enjoy their conversation. As the main part of Sakura Wars, is the "relationship" between characters. It is the same as the mainline games in that the mood of the character changes depending on what is said during the conversation using the LIPS system. In addition, a character can be a "friend" for the player, a dating partner, a partner who is next to you when you are playing a game, and sometimes a navigator for players who are new to the city. It is also a reassuring ally for beginners of online games who will guide you through this virtual city without worry.

Playing games while chatting between players[]

The city is dotted with places related to the series, such as the Great Imperial Theater and Chanoir. There are games that you can play such as "Hanafuda", "Millionaire", "Poker", and "Mahjong". There are also other Sakura Wars fans, who are also coming to town with their "friends", which are waiting.

Partner support[]

Each player pairs with a partner and fights against other players while receiving support and advice from their partner. Of course, if you win, your partner will be happy and if you lose, you will not be so happy. Winning or losing the games also affects the "relationship" between you and your partner. Another great reward in this online match is text chat. In other words, fans can play and talk with each other and become friends... This is one of the greatest appeals of this game is that the game is built around a fan community.

Collecting Bromides[]

In Sakura Wars Online, you can get various items for making progress in the game. Amongst these items are "Character Bromides" which is a familiar aspect of the mainline Sakura Wars games, but these bromides are all different from the ones available in the mainline Sakura Wars games. The reason is these bromides are also super "rare" and something you can boast about to other fans just by having them.
