Bastet is the secondary antagonist of Sakura Wars: New York. She's the Goddess of Cats from Egyptian mythology who has appeared in New York in 1929, assisting the Pharoah Tutankhamen as he aims to become the Sun God to purify the world and create a massive paradise for his people. She remains by Tutankhamen's side as his actions had led him in conflict with the New York Combat Revue, especially its captain Shinjiro Taiga (in his stage name Peppermint) who closely resembles the Pharaoh's lover.
Appearance[]
Bastet is a cute Egyptian girl in her teenage years with dark blue hair, green eyes, black cat ears, a cat tail and small bat wings.
She is wearing ancient Egyptian clothing.
Personality[]
Bastet is a young girl who is deeply loyal to Tutankhamen who she refers to as her master. She stands by his side no matter what and believes in his views about the modern world and mankind's inability to evolve. As the Pharaoh's plans move forward, Bastet starts to worry about the toll Tutankhamen's plans have on her master as he's shown to be more fragile than what one perceives. It is implied that her feelings on Tutankhamen surpass loyalty and could even be romantic as she fears that Tutankhamen is losing himself in his quest to become the Sun God.
Like her master, Bastet does not have a high opinion of the modern civilization. While visiting a museum with Tutankhamen, she has shown disgust in seeing many treasures from her country being exposed in an exhibit for the world to see, seeing it as a sign of Egypt's history and culture being stolen and used by America for its own profits. When meeting Peppermint (a disguised Shinjiro) for the first time, Bastet has confused him for Tutankhamen's past lover and expressed her anger at seeing her showing that she hated how the Pharaoh was betrayed by his own lover.
