Brent Furlong (ブレント・ファーロング Burento Fārongu) is the main antagonist of Sakura Wars: The Movie. He's the president of the Douglas-Stewart Company who seeks to replace the Imperial Combat Revue's Flower Division by using his Japhkiels, machine-like demons created by his henchman Patrick Hamilton.
Appearance[]
Furlong has the appearance of a red-haired American man with blue eyes. He is wearing a dark green business suit with a white shirt and a red tie.
Personality[]
Furlong is a man without any empathy for those he considers beneath him. He orders his henchman to create demons taking the form of machines to replace the Flower Division not even caring for the possible danger they could bring. He also has Orihime Soletta brainwashed into a puppet soldier just to send her against her comrades.
He also has immense pride in his country and sees it as the superior power in the world as he constantly belittles Tokyo, referring it as "weak", compared to the "grandeur" of New York City.
Background[]
Not much is known about Furlong except that became the president of the Douglas-Stewart Company at some point before the beginning of the series. He has also hired the sorcerer Patrick Hamilton as part of his nefarious plans.
History[]
Sakura Wars: The Movie[]
In 1926, Furlong is in Tokyo, Japan alongside Patrick Hamilton where he plans to make the Imperial Combat Revue's Flower Division by creating Japhkiels, a type of unmanned machine that are actually demons, through his henchman's powers. By sending demons to attack the city, Furlong has his machines easily defeat the monsters to gain publicity while also humiliating the Flower Division.
With the help of Imperial Army Officer Haruyoshi Tanuma, Furlong manages to capture the Imperial Combat Revue's commander Ikki Yoneda, seize the theater, and place the Flower Division on indefinite standby as well as their assistant commander Kaede Fujieda and the Moon Division under house arrest. He also has Hamilton turn Orihime Soletta into a puppet soldier through the sorcerer's powers and sends her off to fight the Flower Division.
Following the Flower Division's return, Furlong escapes on a Japhkiel and merges with the surviving Japhkiels to become a giant demon monstrosity. In his new form, Furlong overpowers the Flower Division and destroys Ratchet Altair's Eisenkleid in the process. Before Furlong can kill Sakura, Ichiro Ogami arrives in his F2 Koubu from Paris and reunites with the Flower Division to kill Furlong and the Japhkiels, ending his evil plans for good.
