Kanna Kirishima (桐島 カンナ, Kirishima Kanna) is a member of the first generation Imperial Combat Revue's Flower Division.
Appearance[]
Kanna is a very tall and well-built Okinawan woman with tanned skin, purple eyes, and brown hair. She usually wears a red, sleeveless shirt, slacks, a white headband, and a tan jacket.
Personality[]
Always hungry and tomboyish, the fairly easygoing Kanna serves as the group's raw muscle. Kanna is the master of a Martial Arts style that allows her to easily kill a bull with her bare hands. She sometimes gets into an argument with Sumire over their differences in attitude.
Background[]
Kanna was raised on Okinawa by her martial artist father Takuma, and trained relentlessly in his style of martial arts over the course of her childhood in his dojo. Kanna's work ethic allowed her to hone her monstrous strength, including the development of the "Bear Kill" strike, which demonstrably is capable of what it claims to be able to do, and the capability of stunning or killing other large animals, such as bulls. Like others amongst her peers, Kanna lost her father during her childhood, further fuelling her desire to grow stronger. She also developed a prominent fear of snakes and skill in cooking as the result of being bitting by one and needing to eat a great deal to maintain her physique.
In The Games[]
Sakura Wars (1996)[]
In episode 5, Kanna reveals her fear of snakes after being bitten by one inside the mansion. She gained her fear after getting bit by one as a child while training in Okinawa with her father.
In her ending, she and Ichiro take a trip down to Okinawa for a training session. After seeing a snake, she leaps into Ichiro's arms...and falls into the water. Thankfully they just laugh it off.

Etymology[]
- The name Kanna is written in katakana (カンナ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (栞菜 or 環那), it could possibly mean:
- 栞菜 - "bookmark" (栞) (kan) and "vegetables, greens" (菜) (na).
- 環那 - "ring, link" (環) (kan) and "what?" (那) (na).
- Kanna's surname Kirishima means "paulownia" (桐) (kiri) and "island" (島) (shima).
