Nadeshiko Sakura (咲良なでしこ ) is the biological mother of and Shino Sakura in the Sakura Revolution game.
Appearance[]
Nadeshiko shares a surprising similar appearance to the original star of Flower Division from the first games, Shinguji Sakura, with a very few visual differences. Since the casual kimono clothings until her battle outfit, which are exactly the same as the one Sakura used during Sakura Wars 4, and Sakura Wars: The Movie.
Personality[]
Very few things was known about Nadeshiko's personality. But as seems in the game release day OVA, Nadeshiko seems to be stern but ultimately good heartened, selfless, virtuous and brave, as well reckless, as Aoshima told to the main protagonist, "just like her daughter".
Character Profile[]
A famous actress along with co-star/best friend Kirin Aoshima. She continued fighting the Kouki and she became wanted by the government. After encountering the game protagonist, she learned of his/her spiritual clairvoyance and convinced the protagonist to leave the revolution against the government with her daughter.
Etymology[]
- The name Nadeshiko is written in hiragana (なでしこ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (撫子), it could possibly mean "carnation flower".
- In Japanese culture, this word is used for very beautiful and talented women.
- Nadeshiko's surname Sakura means "blossom" (咲) (saku) and "good, virtuous, respectable" (良) (ra).
Trivia[]
- Due to the extreme similarities between her and Shinguji Sakura, many people believed that Nadeshiko was a member of the Shingujis or even Shinguji Sakura's daughter at Taisho 100 period. Even if her appearance is incredibly similar to the main heroine from the original games, she's more of a alternate universe counterpart of Shinguji Sakura, as the Sakura Revolution series is set in a alternate future version of the games.
- It's also the first alternate counterpart of Shinguji Sakura that's not voiced by Chisa Yokoyama(Who voiced all instances of Shinguji Sakura, and also the villain Yasha from Shin Sakura Taisen), but instead, being voiced by Rie Tanaka.
